Sound project
This project is an opportunity to talk and reflect on faith, religion and memory both on a more personal level and on a cultural level. This is the process of rethinking/redefining and de(re)constructing the Church chants of the "Cherubic song" by dissecting the magnetic tape.
This is a long reassembly process. I found recordings of various chants of the "Cherubic song" and removed all the narrative — the verbal component – from them. Then these segments were recorded on tape, which was cut into multiple parts. These pieces in random order and position were glued back together into a single tape. And recorded again. After that, I dissected the recording in digital form.
During the process of working on this project, I invited people to join the performative meditative part of cutting and glueing the tape. Join a conversation, reflection, not necessarily about religion directly, but about experience, choice, and memory.

Этот проект — рефлексия о вере, религии и памяти, и на более личном уровне, и на общекультурном. Это процесс переосмысления и пересборки церковных распевов «Херувимской песни» с помощью препарирования магнитной пленки — ее разрезки и склейки.
Это долгий процесс пересборки. Я нашла записи различных распевов «Херувимской песни» и убрала из них нарративность — словесную составляющую. Затем эти куски-отрезки записала на пленку, которую разрезала на произвольные части. Эти части в случайном порядке и положении были склеены обратно в единую пленку. И записаны вновь в цифру. После я снова пересобрала и препарировала запись в цифровом виде.
В самом процессе работы над этим проектом я приглашала людей присоединиться к медитативному этапу работы с пленкой. Присоединиться к беседе, рефлексии, необязательно о религии, но об опыте, о выборе, о памяти…
